Graham Chernoff serves as President and is responsible for acquisition, asset management, and investor relations functions for Cumberland Holdings. He has over 20 years experience in the acquisition and financing of all types of income producing real estate. Prior to forming Cumberland Holdings, Graham previously held acquisition and management positions at Invesco Real Estate, Acacia Capital Corporation, and the Matteson Companies. His acquisition and asset management background includes $750 million in value-add multifamily investments on the behalf of several private and institutional investors including: BlackRock, CALSTERS, Principal Global, and ING. Prior to his acquisition experience, Graham spent 5 years in the commercial real estate finance sector working for institutional lenders such as Bank of America and Nomura Securities. His finance experience includes originating and underwriting: construction loans, bridge loans, CMBS loans, Fannie Mae DUS loans, mezzanine and preferred equity investments. Graham received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He is a past Board Member of both Belden Real Estate Club and Rebuilding Together San Francisco, an advisor to Junior Achievement, and a guest lecturer at the Portland State University Masters in Real Estate Program. Graham is a native of Portland, Oregon and currently resides in San Francisco, CA.
Scott focuses on new investment opportunities, portfolio management, and investor relations. Scott has over 25 years of experience in a broad range of real estate investments. In particular, he has in-depth expertise in the renovation, repositioning, and lease-up of retail shopping centers and mixed use properties. Shortly after graduating from Cornell University in 1988 with a degree in Business and Finance, Scott began his real estate career with Win Properties, Inc. in New York City. Scott joined Trust Company of The West in 1994 in the distressed mortgage group. In 1995, Scott was recruited to become one of the original employees of Oaktree Capital Management LLC. While at Oaktree for 10 years, Scott became one of the senior members of the real estate team that was responsible for investing over $2 Billion in opportunistic and distressed real estate situations. In 2006, Scott, along with some of his co- workers, left Oaktree to form Westport Capital Partners LLC where he was a Principal. While at Westport, Scott was directly responsible for investing and managing over $200m in assets while the company grew to over $1 Billion in assets under management. Scott currently serves as a SCGA Junior Board Member.
As COO, Josie is responsible for accounting, risk management, and compliance matters for Cumberland Holdings. She has 13 years experience in accounting, credit and banking industries. Most recent at Deliotte & Touche LLP, she was responsible for the accounting and valuation of loan portfolios for securitization. Prior to Deliotte, she was a Ratings Officer at Standard & Poors responsible for credit evaluation and legal compliance review of Asset Backed Bonds. She also has several years of banking experience with the commercial loans and credit departments of Wells Fargo Bank, Sumitomo Bank, Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank. She started her career as an auditor for Arthur Andersen in Manila. Josie received her Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University and is a graduate of the University of the Philippines with a B.S. in Business Administration and Accountancy. Josie is a past Trustee at the Philippine Development Foundation (formerly Ayala Foundation USA). The Philippine Development Foundation focuses on building an ecosystem of science and technology-based entrepreneurship and innovation for social and economic development in the Philippines.
As Director of Acquisitions, Harry is responsible for leading Cumberland’s acquisitions activities. Harry has 14 years of real estate investment and asset management experience. He has closed $1.2 billion in transactions during his career. Harry began his real estate career at Wells Fargo in the Real Estate Merchant Banking group. Most recently he led acquisition and asset management efforts in the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest for JB Matteson, Inc.
Harry received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Literature from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He is a past board member of both the Belden Real Estate Club and Youth Tennis Advantage. He is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Harry is a Bay Area native and currently resides in San Francisco, California.
