OUR OFFICERS
Graham’s 25-year career includes the acquisition, finance, renovation, and asset management of over 15,000 apartment units in several Western markets. At Cumberland Holdings, Graham oversees the Multi-Family Portfolio and executes its value-added renovations and asset management repositioning plans. He also manages our outside legal team and our advisors for investment entity structuring, investment-offering documentation, and the arrangement of mortgage financing. He actively participates in investor relations and equity-raising functions.
Prior to forming Cumberland Holdings, Graham held acquisition and management positions at Invesco Real Estate, Acacia Capital Corporation, and the Matteson Companies. His acquisition and asset management background includes value-add multifamily investments on the behalf of several private and institutional investors including: BlackRock, CALSTERS, Principal Global, and ING. Previous to his acquisition experience, Graham spent 5 years in the commercial real estate finance sector, working for institutional lenders such as Bank of America and Nomura Securities. His finance experience includes originating and underwriting: construction loans, bridge loans, CMBS loans, Fannie Mae DUS loans, mezzanine and preferred equity investments.
Graham received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. Graham is a native of Portland, Oregon and currently resides in San Francisco, CA.
In addition to his responsibilities at Cumberland, Graham is deeply involved in the community, including his position as a Board Member for the Portland State Center for Real Estate and a Hall of Fame Committee Member for the Olympic Club. He is a past Board Member of both Belden Real Estate Club and Rebuilding Together San Francisco, and an advisor to Junior Achievement.
At Cumberland Holdings, Scott is in charge of the commercial property portfolio and investor relations. He has over 30 years of experience in a broad range of real estate investments. In particular, he has in-depth expertise in the renovation, repositioning, and lease-up in commercial buildings and mixed-use properties. Scott additionally focuses on new investment opportunities and corporate governance.
Shortly after graduating from Cornell University in 1988 with a degree in Business and Finance, Scott began his real estate career with Win Properties, Inc, in New York. Scott joined the Distressed Debt Real Estate Department at Trust Company of The West in 1994 and then became one of the original investment professionals at Oaktree Capital Management, LLC. While at Oaktree for 10 years, Scott became a senior member of the real estate team that invested over $2 billion in opportunistic and distressed real estate situations. In 2006, Scott left Oaktree to help form Westport Capital Partners, LLC, where he was a Principal. While at Westport, Scott was directly responsible for investing and managing over $200 million in assets while the company grew to over $1 billion in assets under management.
Scott currently serves as a SCGA Foundation Board member which provides access, mentoring and college scholarships to junior golfers in Los Angeles. Scott is also a Board Member of the Redondo Beach Police Foundation. In addition, he supports numerous charitable causes such as Phil Dev, LA Harbor Boys and Girls Club and the LA food Bank.
As Chief Operating Officer, Josie is responsible for accounting, risk management, and compliance matters for Cumberland Holdings. She also manages investor relations with regards to financial reporting and tax matters. These activities include maintaining our online investor reporting database and implementing tax mitigation strategies. She has over 20 years of experience in the finance, accounting and real estate industries.
Prior to forming Cumberland, Josie was a Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she was responsible for the accounting and valuation of loan portfolios for securitization. Before Deloitte, she was a Ratings Officer at Standard & Poor’s, responsible for credit evaluation and legal compliance review of Asset Backed Bonds. She also has several years of banking experience with the commercial loans and credit departments of Wells Fargo Bank, Sumitomo Bank, and Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank. She started her career in accounting as an auditor for Arthur Andersen in Manila.
Josie received her Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University and graduated Cum Laude from the University of
the Philippines with a B.S. in Business Administration and Accountancy. Josie is also involved in the community through her position as a
Board Member for Filipinos In Institutional Real Estate (FIIRE), a group of commercial real estate professionals that mentors, networks, and
educates for the advancement of Filipinos in real estate. She is an active member and former Trustee of the Philippine Development
Foundation, which enables the success of Filipinos through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
As Director of Acquisitions, Harry is responsible for leading Cumberland’s transaction activities, including acquisitions, dispositions and debt financings in the apartment and retail space. He has closed $1.3 billion in transactions during his 18-year career in real estate and asset management.
Harry received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Literature from Claremont McKenna College and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker. Harry began his real estate career at Wells Fargo in the Real Estate Merchant Banking group. Prior to joining Cumberland, he led acquisition and asset management efforts in the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest for JB Matteson, Inc.
